PALS -Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course This course is designed for Health Care Professionals in resuscitation of the pediatric patient at the advanced level using medications, cardiac monitoring, electrical therapy and advanced airway placement. This program requires a basic skill set of CPR or BLS for Healthcare Provider and basic dysrhythmia recognition (EKGs). PALS is designed for the Health Care Professional routinely involved with pediatric patients. The importance of effective team communication and appropriate action during resuscitation is emphasized throughout the class. PALS uses simulated clinical scenarios which include hands-on practical, as well as, American Heart Association videos to teach the students. The health care provider will be able to recognize and prevent causes of pediatric injuries and emergencies that require resuscitation. Students practice working as an individual, a team and as a team leader to reinforce the concepts. The certification is valid for 2 years. You’ll understand how to recognize:
